For the first time, there will be a Northern Territory Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Australia), and we are pleased to invite you to its launch by The Hon Chief Justice Grant AO of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in the company of Geoff Farnsworth, President of CIArb Australia, Dr Cameron Ford OAM SC, Prof Doug Jones AO, C Arb, Companion and past President of the Ciarb, and International Justice of the Singapore International Commercial Court, and Prof Janet Walker CM, C Arb, recipient of the 2018 Ciarb Canada Award for Service to Arbitration, and founding Chair of CanArbWeek.
This is a significant step in making arbitration more accessible to Territorians and in bringing the Territory in line with the national and international arbitration and ADR communities.
The Chapter will be a dedicated hub of excellence in promoting arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) offering training and accreditation of globally recognised qualifications.
Arbitration has the benefits of relieving pressure on the courts, reducing costs for disputants and finalising disputes more quickly.
