Resources Hub Submission Guidelines

We welcome the submission of content for publication on the Ciarb Australia Resources Hub. All content should be submitted in accordance with the guidelines set out below.

1. We welcome content in all formats which have a focus on topical issues in the areas of domestic or international arbitration or ADR (adjudication, mediation and expert determination), including:
   • case notes;
   • journal-style articles;
   • commentary or news alerts on updates to legislation and institutional rules (whether proposed or enacted);
   • book reviews; and
   • short essays.
2. As a general guide, content submitted should:
   • be at least 750 words (short essays and journal-style articles preferrable under 1500 words);
   • have a practical takeaway;
   • include a title and short introductory paragraph;
   • specify the practice area (international/domestic arbitration or ADR);
   • specify the relevant jurisdiction(s), including any treaties, institutional rules, law of the seat and governing law of the contract (as applicable);
   • specify the subject matter (e.g. construction, maritime, transport, infrastructure, insurance, resources & energy, arts, sport, finance, IT and media, etc);
   • include sources (footnotes preferred);
   • case notes should identify the case(s) being discussed (including full citations) and the relevant issues being considered, including any legislation and/or rules of procedure.
3. All content submitted must be original and any sources must be included. If the content is to be reprinted elsewhere, it must reflect an acknowledgement that it is published with the consent of Ciarb Australia.
4. Content should be submitted by email to William Hettrick here as follows:
   • include in the subject line the content type/format, name(s) of author(s) and title of the content and/or name of case:
     • e.g. “Case note: J Bloggs – Republic of India v CCDM Holdings, LLC [2025] FCAFC 2“:
   • attach the content in Word format; and
   • provide your name, firm/organisation, city, and a link to your website or LinkedIn/company profile (if you are comfortable to do so) in the body of the email.
5. The Editorial Committee will review and publish submissions, with the Managing Editor on a rolling basis. As such, timeframes may vary, however, subject to any editorial decisions, the Editorial Committee will endeavour to review and publish submissions expeditiously.
6. The Editorial Committee consists of William Hettrick, Cari-Dee Le, Jemima Roe and Paivi Adeniyi.
7. Editorial decisions are within the discretion of the Publisher, Ciarb Australia, and Ciarb Australia may request amendments or decline to publish a submitted article for any reason. In the event a submission is declined, the Managing Editor will refer the submission to the Editorial Review Board: Geoff Farnsworth, Angelina Gomez and Kristian Maley
8. By submitting content for publication, the author(s) warrant(s) to Ciarb Australia that the content is free of copyright restriction and that any necessary clearance(s) from a firm/organisation has been obtained prior to submission.
9. Please disclose any use of AI in the preparation of the article, and confirm that you have verified any AI-generated information .
