Dear Member

As we gear up for Australian Arbitration Week (13 – 17 October), it’s great to see your branch’s increased momentum and visibility over the year.

Notably marking our 30th Anniversary, the branch has undertaken two significant initiatives since my last update in July:

• The Masterclass on International Arbitration 
• Expansion into the Northern Territory 

These endeavours resonate with Ciarb’s core values and support our strategic goal of creating opportunities for our membership at all levels: Students, Associates, Members and Fellows.

This week, we will launch the Resources Hub, providing a platform for contribution and knowledge enhancement to assist with your practice.  This will be a permanent fixture on our homepage as will be The Ciarb Australia News, the branch’s flagship publication, back from a six-year hiatus.

It’s also great to see a steady increase in membership. Being the exclusive dispute resolution association where membership is earned through qualification and adherence to the Ciarb Code of Professional and Ethical Conduct for Members, this progress is significant.

For those aspiring to elevate their membership status, the Accelerated Route To Membership course in Sydney on 19 November and the Accelerated Route To Fellowship course in Perth from 25 – 26 November offer the opportunity for progression.

In addition to Branch activities, I am honoured to represent the branch at the Australian Legal Convention in Canberra from 20 – 22 November and take part in International Arbitration Week in London, including the Alexander Lecture on 4 December.

This year’s lecture will be delivered by Ciarb Global President, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab C.Arb FCIArb.

As our focus remains on growing and promoting our membership, providing members with valuable opportunities and enriching the membership experience, we are already planning for 2026.
